Opening hours

The Institute is open by appointment only  in accordance with the Decree of Prime Minister of 14 January  2021 concerning urgent measures to fight the COVID-19 outbreak

On site consultations are temporarily suspended. Our staff is available to provide remote support and advice


Appointments may be made during opening hours by telephone or e-mail.

Casva’s archival holdings are open for consultation by scholars, students and users who have requested authorisation and have obtained an appointment by sending an email to: [email protected]

The request must be accompanied by a brief description of the research project.
Appointments set at the earliest possible convenience, also the same day if possible.

Documents may only be consulted in the presence of a member of staff of the CASVA institute.

Users are invited to make use of gloves when handling the documents, particularly the more fragile documents.
